Elaine was born to Dr. Rosel and Dorothy (Price) Seashore on October 8, 1936 in Duluth, Minnesota. Elaine graduated from East High School and then from St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing. She always laughed at how the hummingbirds would dive bomb her if the feeder was empty. Elaine welcomed everyone into her home and always had a story to tell. She didn’t know she was funny, but she was, and was often called the funny grandma. She could make you smile even when you didn’t feel like it. Elaine loved knitting and she especially enjoyed knitting Christmas stockings. The stockings she designed and individualized are cherished Christmas keepsakes.

Elaine was licensed in Adult Vocational Education and was active in the community serving on the Minnesota Nurses Association State Continuing Education Committee and the Minnesota League of Nurses Board of Directors. She was a member of Soroptimists International and received the Woman of the Year Award in 1982.
